The New England Patriots traveled to the other side of the AFC East with insurance.
The organization elevated linebacker Mark Robinson and cornerback Kobee Minor from the practice squad on the eve of Sunday’s matchup with the Miami Dolphins, as first reported by ESPN’s Mike Reiss.
Both call-ups are scheduled to revert following the trip to Hard Rock Stadium.
Robinson, 26, previously served as an elevation for the season opener versus the Las Vegas Raiders at Gillette Stadium. It brought 14 snaps and a pair of tackles on special teams. The 5-foot-11, 235-pound linebacker signed to the practice squad shortly after its formation in August.
By way of Presbyterian, Southeast Missouri State and Ole Miss, Robinson was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL draft at No. 225 overall. Through 39 games, his career has spanned 47 tackles, one sack, three forced fumbles as well as four starts on defense.
Minor, 23, had been waived in Foxborough at the NFL’s 53-man roster deadline. A spot on the initial practice squad followed for the latest “Mr. Irrelevant.” Selected in the seventh round at No. 257 overall in April, the rookie led the cornerback depth chart with 108 defensive snaps in the preseason. His official debut lies ahead.
The 5-foot-11, 188-pound Minor finished his five-year collegiate career at Memphis after stops at Indiana and Texas Tech. He appeared in all 11 games last fall while having a hand in 38 tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles and six passes defensed.
New England ruled out outside linebacker Keion White and cornerback Christian Gonzalez on the final injury report of the week. But a spot on the 53-man roster has remained open since the club waived second-year corner D.J. James.
Sunday’s divisional kickoff in Miami Gardens is set for 1 p.m. ET.
