Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb discusses tough weekend, sleepless nights after Eagles loss

Dallas Cowboys superstar receiver CeeDee Lamb could have had a much better Week 1 if not for several crucial drops against the Philadelphia Eagles. Those drops played a big role in the 24-20 loss and visibly affected Lamb. According to The Athletic's Jon Machota, Lamb admitted he had a tough weekend and didn't get much sleep after the game.

On Friday, Lamb took full responsibility for his performance. "I wouldn't rather nobody else but myself be in those situations," he told reporters. "I came up short once. We'll see the rest."

Lamb's drops included several critical opportunities late in the game that could have extended drives or changed the outcome.

"Trust me, I've thought about it, I've dwelled on it," he added. "I've done everything that you could possibly imagine about this game. For all those that feel like they feel worse about that game than me, you're absolutely wrong."

In that game, Lamb had seven catches for 110 yards.

The team isn't blaming the wide receiver for the loss. Last Thursday, after the game, coach Brian Schottenheimer said:

"Don't worry about Ceedee Lamb. Ceedee's going to be fine. ... Again, this was a team defeat and we own that."

Lamb will have the chance to put the drops behind him and deliver an excellent performance when Dallas faces the struggling New York Giants in the Week 2 matchup on Sunday.
