Mets recall Huascar Brazobán, option Justin Hagenman

The Mets continue to reshuffle the bullpen, recalling Huascar Brazobán and optioning Justin Hagenman to the minors. Additionally, Wander Suero, who was designated for assignment to make room on the 40-Man Roster for Brandon Sproat on Sunday, has cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A Syracuse.

Brazobán was a mainstay in the Mets’ bullpen for most of the season, before being a sacrifice to the 40-Man Roster after the trade deadline. He was back for two appearances in August, but was sent back down quickly. He’s been quite effective this season, appearing in 46 games, putting up a 50% ground ball rate and a 22.9% strikeout rate, good for a 3.91 ERA.

Hagenman has been up and down a number of times five times thus far this season and, before his most recent appearance, had put up a 3.05 ERA. However, in his last appearance on Tuesday for the Mets, he gave up five earned runs in three innings of work.
