Kylian Mbappé already knows it. Once again this year, he won't be taking home the Ballon d'Or.

In an interview with L’Équipe, Kylian Mbappé spoke about the Ballon d'Or race and his friends who are in contention for the prestigious award. The captain of the French national team has already made up his mind: he won't be lifting the coveted trophy this year.

"No, I can't win it this year. (He laughs.) I can't choose between two friends. What matters is that their performances are recognized. And for both of them, I'd be really happy no matter what happens," he admitted.

It's worth noting that Kylian Mbappé is coming off a stellar individual season with Real Madrid. Last year, he was the top scorer across all competitions with 43 goals, and he further etched his name into Les Bleus' history by becoming the second all-time top scorer for the French national team thanks to his goal last night against Iceland.
