Ajax’s latest signings quick to praise new teammates: ‘That impressed me’

Ajax’s newest acquisitions, Raul Moro and Lucas Rosa, have been asked about their time in Amsterdam so far. The pair have looked to settle well, and have offered particular praise to two experienced heads in the Amsterdam club’s dressing room.

According to VoetbalPrimeur, Moro is deeply impressed by Steven Berghuis. The 33-year-old left-footer has made a big impression on Ajax’s summer signing in the first few weeks of the campaign.

Moro told the club’s media channels, “I already said when I came here: I am very impressed with Steven (Berghuis). How he controls the ball, how he plays… That impressed me.”

Moro has seemingly found an experienced role model to shape his game around, after he made his long-awaited transfer from Real Valladolid to Ajax this summer. So far, the Spaniard has played four league games and is looking to get to grips with the Eredivisie. That said, with a contract until the summer of 2030 at the Johan Cruijff ArenA, Moro has plenty more time to make his mark.

Brazilian defender Lucas Rosa, who previously transferred from Real Valladolid to Ajax at the start of the year, was also asked about his teammates in Amsterdam. “I’m very impressed with Davy Klaassen,” Rosa said.

“With his overall development and all his experience. You can see he’s a smart player. He’s played over 300 matches for Ajax; he has Ajax blood. I think he’s a very good player.”
