A highly anticipated Ligue 1 fixture between Nice and Paris Saint-Germain was tragically overshadowed by ugly scenes from the stands, forcing two separate stoppages in play. The match, held at the Allianz Riviera, descended into controversy as homophobic chants repeatedly echoed through the stadium.

Referee Abdelatif Herradji was compelled to halt the match on both occasions, with the stadium announcer being deployed to plead with home supporters to cease the offensive outbursts. Following the first interruption, play resumed largely due to the intervention of Jonathan Clauss, who, as captain, made valiant efforts to calm the agitated crowd.

On the pitch, the football provided a dramatic narrative. Nice managed to seize the lead through a beautifully precise strike from Sofiane Diop. However, Paris Saint-Germain responded immediately after halftime, with Jean-Philippe Krasso coolly converting a penalty to level the score.

Just as the match seemed to be heading for a tense conclusion, the dark cloud of discrimination reappeared. In stoppage time, the same offensive chants forced the referee to interrupt the game for a final, sobering pause. After a delay of several minutes, the players returned to the field to see out the remaining moments, bringing a deeply troubled encounter to an end.
