A wide receiver finally found the end zone for the Atlanta Falcons and, honestly, who else would it be? Michael Penix, Jr. finds Drake London in the front of the end zone from five yards out to cap off a crucial, 14-play, 73-yard drive.
The Falcons offense is cooking in the first quarter. Bijan Robinson has nine carries for 39 yards, while Drake London has started off hot, catching all four of his targets for 43 yards and that touchdown. Even Kyle Pitts has an explosive 26-yard catch to his name.
But maybe most importantly, Michael Penix went six-for-six on that final drive for 42 yards and the touchdown.
The offense is starting to move, the defense is showing some good things against backup quarterback, and former Falcon, Marcus Mariota.
Could this be the bounce-back Atlanta needs?
It’s early, but all signs are pointing up.
