Tali Hakas to miss rest of Hawaii’s volleyball season

Hawaii junior outside hitter Tali Hakas will miss the rest of the Rainbow Wahine’s volleyball season with a right shoulder injury.

UH announced the news 45 minutes before the start of tonight’s match against Portland at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.

Hakas left Hawaii’s three-set loss against San Diego on Aug. 31 in the first set and has not played since.

After playing and starting every match last season, Hakas opened this year with a career-high 17 kills and 12 digs in a five-set loss to Marquette.

Hakas “will continue to focus on supporting her teammates throughout the season” according to UH’s statement.

Hawaii is 2-4 heading into tonight’s match against Portland (5-1).
