Seahawks vs. Cardinals 1st half game thread: The dreaded trip to Glendale

The Seattle Seahawks have been outstanding at beating the Arizona Cardinals in Arizona. Dating back to 2013, the Seahawks have won all but two matchups: 2016 and the 6-6 tie, and the 37-34 overtime thriller in 2020. Everything else has been a W for Seattle, but this trip is usually an adventure for reasons that range from bad special teams, season or career-ending injuries, or that one game against the New England Patriots.

This is a very important game even for late September. The Seahawks and Cardinals are both 0-1 in the division and have the same record. Neither team wants to drop to 0-2 within the tight and tough NFC West, so there’s quite a bit on the line. Seattle has flipped from underdog to favorite, and have historically played Kyler Murray every well. I see no reason why that should change tonight. Arizona’s defense, however, looks formidable, and the free-flowing, high-scoring offense of the past two weeks may slow down on this occasion.

When you’re looking at short weeks like this one, it’s truly win by any means necessary. And if the Seahawks can come out of that cursed field healthy and whole, that’s another win in itself.

Prime Video has the game at 5:15 pm PT. If you’re local to Seattle you can catch the game on KCPQ-13.
