The time has finally come: Cleveland Browns running back Quinshon Judkins will make his NFL debut in Week 2 against the Baltimore Ravens.
The news was revealed via multiple reports. Judkins now joins a crowded backfield that also includes fellow rookie Dylan Sampson and veteran Jerome Ford.
The start of Judkins' NFL career was delayed after some legal trouble during the offseason. The Ohio State product was accused of striking a woman back in July, leading to a misdemeanor battery charge.
However, the charges were ultimately dropped last month, clearing the way for the Browns rookie to rejoin the team and sign his contract. But Judkins isn't out of the woods yet, as he could face a suspension from the NFL, which is currently investigating the matter.
That said, Judkins will at least be on the field in Week 2. But should you put him in your starting lineup in fantasy football? Let's find out.
Quinshon Judkins start or sit advice
Because of the aforementioned legal issue, Judkins was not with the team in the offseason, missing both training camp and the preseason, so it's highly doubtful he'll have a big role in his first game.
Adding to that, the Browns are going to keep Sampson and Ford involved, which will only cut into Judkins' potential workload more. Judkins should stay on the bench this week.
Verdict: Sit Judkins
Sampson led Cleveland in work last week, seeing a whopping 20 touches to Ford's seven. Ford did, however, out-snap Sampson, 41-33.
With Sampson seeing so much work last week, including in the passing game where he had eight receptions, he is easily the best starting option among Cleveland's backs in Week 2.
That said, the presence of Judkins could cut into his workload in Week 2, and we'd expect a 50/50 split for the two rookies once Judkins gets acclimated, which will make navigating this Browns backfield in fantasy football difficult all year.
