Real Madrid face Eintracht Frankfurt in the third qualifying round of UEFA Women’s Champions League. Las Blancas have travelled to Frankfurt for the first leg of the qualifiers.
Las Blancas haven’t started off the new season on a strong foot with only 1 point won in the first 2 matchdays of Liga F. The white club drew against the newly promoted side DUX Logroño and lost the Madrid derby against Atletico Madrid last week. On the other side, the German side have won their first match of the season with a convincing result of 5-0 against SGS Essen. Eintracht are looking strong with some of their most active goalscorers such as Laura Freigang, Géraldine Reuteler, Nicole Anyomi, then their summer transfers Amanda Ilestedt and Rebecka Blomqvist. The former Real Madrid winger Hayley Raso has also signed for Eintracht this summer window, getting her debut against Essen in the second half, and will face off with her former club for a UWCL spot.
“We’ve had a bit of a difficult start to the season, but I think in the last few days we’ve talked a lot, we’ve communicated with each other. We have analysed the matches and I think we are ready. We are looking forward to tomorrow’s game,” speaks Sara Däbritz for Real Madrid TV.
Kickoff is on Thursday, September 11th, at 19:00 CEST. Broadcast will be available on Real Madrid TV.
Goalkeepers: Misa, Frohms and Laia.
Defenders: Yasmim, M. Méndez, Shei, Holmgaard, Andersson, Lakrar and Silvia Cristóbal.
Midfielders: Toletti, Däbritz, Weir, Angeldahl, Bennison and Irune.
Forwards: Pau C., Athenea, Bruun, Redondo, Linda C., Eva Navarro and Feller.
