NFL Power Rankings: Week 2 Edition

Now that Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season is in the books, it’s time for an incredibly meaningful and serious exercise: NFL Power Rankings! What differentiates these rankings from all the others is that they’re THE only truly accurate ones in the entire universe. Hard to believe, I know. Let’s take a look at how all 32 teams stack up.

- Philadelphia Eagles (Last Week: 1) - The Eagles picked up an important win over an NFC East rival despite not getting big contributions from A.J. Brown (one target) and Jalen Carter (instantly ejected). Oh, and Jalen Hurts looked really good.

- Buffalo Bills (LW: 3) - If there are losses that take the wind out of your sails, Week 1 was a win that puts the wind in them. Though the Bills are more about wagons than boats. Anyway, Josh Allen is a freak of nature.

- Baltimore Ravens (LW: 4) - There’s no doubt Lamar Jackson is a special talent. There is doubt about him ever getting over the hump. Choking away what could’ve been a very valuable tiebreaker over the Bills in the AFC could matter a lot when the playoffs roll around.

- Green Bay Packers (LW: 5) - The Packers look like the biggest threat to the Eagles in the NFC. Jordan Love being healthy now after being banged up in 2024 could make a big difference. And Micah Parsons will only be more useful to Green Bay as he gets acclimated to their defense.

- Kansas City Chiefs (LW: 2) - Regression could be coming for a Chiefs team that won a lot of one-score games last year. Patrick Mahomes can make up for a number of their weaknesses but not all of them. If they can’t beat the Eagles, they’ll be 0-2 for the first time since 2014.

- Tampa Bay Buccaneers (LW: 7) - The Bucs beat their biggest competition to win the AFC South. And they did it despite missing Tristan Wirfs and Chris Godwin, who will be returning by October.

- Los Angeles Rams (LW: 8) - Matthew Stafford not looking cooked is important after the weird offseason he had. And not allowing a touchdown in Week 1 was pretty good.

- Los Angeles Chargers (LW: 16) - Maybe this is the year it finally clicks for the Bolts?! Famous last words … but Justin Herbert played his best football in some time. Maybe they can actually unseat the Chiefs in the AFC West? They’re halfway to sweeping KC.

- Detroit Lions (LW: 6) - Oof. The 2025 Lions looked nothing like the 2024 Lions in Week 1. The losses they’ve suffered might be a real problem. Major questions along the offensive line and at both coordinator spots.

- Cincinnati Bengals (LW: 9) - Despite entering Week 1 as 6.5-point favorites, the Bengals only managed to beat Cleveland by one point. Cincy actually got outgained by 186 yards. Not an encouraging performance.

- Washington Commanders (LW: 12) - The Commanders looked solid in Week 1, though I’d argue their win was more about the G-Men looking awful. Washington let New York hang around longer than they should have.

- San Francisco 49ers (LW: 11) - The Niners majorly flirted with a Week 1 loss before ultimately coming up with a crucial stop to win the game. But now Brock Purdy is hurt, as is George Kittle. Their schedule is so easy that they might be able to survive their injuries. But maybe not.

- Pittsburgh Steelers (LW: 17) - Aaron Rodgers apparently isn’t totally cooked. Seems like he found a good fit in Pittsburgh.

- Minnesota Vikings (LW: 15) - J.J. McCarthy being able to play would be a pretty big deal for the Vikings’ outlook.

- Houston Texans (LW: 10) - What if C.J. Stroud’s rookie season was a one-year wonder kinda deal?

- Denver Broncos (LW: 13) - Bo Nix did not any assuage concerns about a Year 2 regression. Still think the combination of Sean Payton and this Denver defense will prevent them from being too bad. But the ceiling is very much in question.

- Chicago Bears (LW: 14) - Caleb Williams just doesn’t pass the eye test. He struggled to make relatively easy throws on Monday night. He’s going to get benched for Tyson Bagent. Book it.

- Dallas Cowboys (LW: 19) - Cowboys fans are so down bad that instead of bragging about five Super Bowl rings they’re not proud of a “moral victory” against the Eagles. Sad to see. But they should get their first win of the season this weekend.

- Arizona Cardinals (LW: 20) - Struggled to decisively beat the bottom team in these rankings. Probably going to be mediocre again this season.

- Las Vegas Raiders (LW: 25) - While far from legit Super Bowl contenders, the Raiders have the makings of a legitimately solid team. Which they haven’t been in some time.

- Atlanta Falcons (LW: 24) - Michael Penix showing promise is important. But the Falcons blew a big chance to establish themselves as the top team in the NFC South.

- Seattle Seahawks (LW: 22) - Seattle came close to pulling off an upset over the Niners. Instead, they’re 0-1 with a cross-country trip to Pittsburgh up next. Could be an 0-2 start.

- Jacksonville Jaguars (LW: 28) - Trevor Lawrence isn’t inspiring much confidence but the Jags might be better than the very worst teams.

- Indianapolis Colts (LW: 30) - What if Daniel Jones is actually good and just needed to get away from New York? Not impossible.

- New York Jets (LW: 27) - Justin Fields probably had the best game of his career in Week 1. Maybe he’s turned a corner but I’m still skeptical. Especially if he’s asked to do a lot more as a passer.

- New England Patriots (LW: 18) - The shine the Pats once had is long gone.

- Cleveland Browns (LW: 29) - The Browns are going to have a really good record against the spread. But a not so good record straight up.

- Tennessee Titans (LW: 31) - Well, they didn’t look lifeless in Week 1?

- Carolina Panthers (LW: 23) - Bryce Young is back to being bad.

- Miami Dolphins (LW: 21) - Gutless showing from a team with terrible vibes.

- New York Giants (LW: 26) - What was the point of signing Russell Wilson? Just a total waste of $10.5 million. This isn’t a hindsight take, either; it was pretty apparent at the time. They should’ve just rode with Jameis Winston, a rookie (who turned out to be Jaxson Dart), and Tommy DeVito. That they’re still playing Wilson over Dart is insane.

- New Orleans Saints (LW: 32) - They didn’t look good. But they didn’t look as bad as expected.
