Kings Land 4-Time All-Star in Big Offseason Move

The Los Angeles Kings entered the NHL offseason looking to be very active. After another first-round playoff exit, Los Angeles made some changes in the front office.

The team brought in former Edmonton Oilers executive Ken Holland, and the hope of building a better team came about. So far, Los Angeles has made smaller moves, but they have now added a former All-Star and champion to the mix.

According to NHL insider Bob McKenzie, the Kings are signing former rival Corey Perry to a deal. Perry had spent the last few seasons playing for the Edmonton Oilers, knocking Los Angeles out of the playoffs multiple times.

Perry had been looking to return to the Oilers, but due to the cap problems that Edmonton has had, things took a turn. The veteran now gets a chance to go for another Stanley Cup run with the Kings, a team that he has battled against for years.

The former Anaheim Ducks star knows the Kings very well, and this move is quite a shock to many. Perry has been disliked by the Kings fans for a long time, but he has now made his way to the team.

Despite his age, Perry has continued to perform very well on the ice. Perry scored 19 goals and had 11 assists over 81 games for the Oilers last season.

In the playoffs, he scored 10 goals and had four assists over 22 games. Perry should provide some needed depth to the Kings' roster and could play a big role in helping them compete next season.
