Julián Álvarez left out of Atlético de Madrid squad for UCL

Atlético de Madrid announced the list of players called up by Diego Simeone for the match against Liverpool, this Wednesday (17th), in the Champions League.

The big surprise was the absence of Julián Álvarez, the team's main star. The Argentine forward had already missed the second half against Villarreal due to knee pain and now is also not included in the squad.

Besides him, Cardoso is also out after suffering a sprain in Monday's training, as well as Almada, Giménez, and Baena.

On the other hand, there is good news: Hancko returns after recovering from recent pain, and four young players from the youth academy have been included — Taufik, Jano, Rayane, and Esquivel.
