Hojlund scores on Napoli debut after Man Utd move

Rasmus Hojlund scored on his Napoli debut as the Serie A champions claimed a 3-1 victory at Fiorentina.

The Denmark striker joined the Italian club on a season-long loan from Manchester United on 1 September with an obligation to make the transfer a permanent one for £38m next summer.

Hojlund netted in the 14th minute to put Napoli 2-0 up with a confident finish.

The 22-year-old latched on to a superb through ball from Leonardo Spinazzola, drew ex-United goalkeeper David de Gea off his line, and then guided a low shot into the corner of the net.

Earlier, former Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne had put Napoli ahead with a sixth-minute penalty after Frank Anguissa had been fouled by Pietro Comuzzo.

Sam Beukema added a third for Napoli early in the second half when he tapped in from close range after La Viola failed to clear a corner.

Fiorentina pulled a goal back with 11 minutes of normal time remaining when Luca Ranieri pounced at the back post from a corner.

But Napoli goalkeeper Sergej Milinkovic-Savic ensured the visitors went home with the three points as he thwarted a late spell of pressure.

Victory for Antonio Conte's side means they leapfrog Juventus - 4-3 winners over Inter Milan earlier in the day - back into top spot on goal difference.
