Former Washington Wizards point guard Malcolm Brogdon signed with the New York Knicks on Friday, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Brogdon’s deal with the Knicks is non guaranteed, according to SNY’s Ian Begley.
Brogdon, 32, was traded to the Wizards in June 2024 as part of the Deni Avdija trade. The former Sixth Man of the Year played just 24 games with Washington due to various injuries, averaging 12.7 points and 4.1 assists in 23.5 minutes per game.
The Wizards reportedly tried to trade Brogdon at February’s trade deadline and again this offseason via sign-and-trade, but no deal was reached. Now, the veteran guard is off the an Eastern Conference contender.
The Knicks re-signed another former Wizard, guard Landry Shamet, on Thursday. Shamet and Brogdon will compete for the Knicks’ final roster spot, Begley said.
