Cruzeiro extend deal with young star, release clause set at €100 million

Cruzeiro has announced the extension of midfielder Rhuan Gabriel’s contract, a standout player from the Under-20 team. The deal, which was previously set to run until the end of 2028, is now valid through 2029. In addition, the release clause has been adjusted to 100 million euros (about R$ 637 million).

The information was initially reported by Central da Toca and confirmed by ge. This is Rhuan’s second contract renewal of the season: in April, he had already signed until 2028, with a release clause of 60 million euros (approximately R$ 382 million).

The young midfielder has been closely watched by Leonardo Jardim, as he has participated in training sessions with the main squad at Toca da Raposa. For the Under-20s in 2025, he has 18 appearances, five goals, and one assist, and also played in the 2024 Copa São Paulo, where Cruzeiro finished as runners-up.

Having been part of Cruzeiro’s youth academy since 2020, Rhuan also has experience with Brazil’s youth national teams. He played in the 2023 South American Under-17 Championship and recently took part in friendlies with the Under-20 National Team against Paraguay, as part of preparations for the World Cup in this age group.
