College Football Announcer Schedule: Broadcasters for notable Week 5 games

The final Saturday in September is shaping up to be one of the best of the 2025 college football season so far, and the announcer schedule is set. Some high-profile matchups are on tap, headlined by two huge ones in primetime.

Alabama and Georgia will square off in a rematch of last year’s thriller, though it’ll be in Athens this time around. At the same time, Penn State will take on Oregon in the Nittany Lions’ annual White Out game at Beaver Stadium – one of the best atmospheres in the sport.

The announcer schedule is also in place for the massive college football slate. Here’s who will be on the call for notable Week 5 games, according to data compiled by 506Sports.

Florida State at Virginia

Date/Time: Sept. 26, 7 p.m. ET
Channel: ESPN
Announcers: Bob Wischusen, Louis Riddick

The Friday night primetime games include two intriguing power conference games, starting with Florida State at Virginia. FSU is on a short week following a blowout win over Kent State and will get ready for the ACC opener against a UVA team that just got a 28-point win over Stanford. Bob Wischusen and Louis Riddick will be in the booth for ESPN.

TCU at Arizona State

FOX’s Friday night game features an Arizona State team fresh off a thrilling win over Baylor last time out. The Sun Devils have now won two straight following a loss at Mississippi State and will welcome No. 24-ranked TCU to Tempe for a key Big 12 showdown.

Notre Dame at Arkansas

Saturday’s Noon ET window includes a power matchup in Fayetteville as Notre Dame takes on Arkansas, kicking off ABC’s SEC tripleheader. The Fighting Irish offense shined in a victory over Purdue last week while the Razorbacks are looking to bounce back from a loss at Memphis, which saw the Tigers come all the way back to win. USC at Illinois

An intriguing Big Ten showdown is in Champaign Saturday afternoon as USC makes the trip to take on Illinois. The Trojans took down Michigan State in a late-night affair last week while the Fighting Irish are hoping to bounce back from a resounding loss to Indiana in Bloomington. FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff will be in attendance with Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt in the booth.

LSU at Ole Miss

A crowded 3:30 p.m. ET window includes a matchup between LSU and Ole Miss. The Tigers looked strong in a blowout win over Southeastern Louisiana a week ago while the Rebels cruised past Tulane – and Ferris State transfer Trinidad Chambliss is in line to start again, On3’s Chris Low and Pete Nakos reported.

Texas A&M at Auburn

Out of a bye week, Texas A&M will now get ready for SEC play following a thrilling victory over Notre Dame in Week 3. The Aggies are heading to Jordan-Hare Stadium to take on Auburn, which fell to Oklahoma in a close matchup in Norman last time out. Joe Tessitore and Jesse Palmer will be on The Plains to call the game.

Ohio State at Washington

Another intriguing Big Ten matchup awaits in Seattle as Ohio State takes on Washington in CBS’ 3:30 p.m. ET game. The Buckeyes were idle last week but take a 3-0 record into the game, including the Week 1 victory against Texas. The Huskies, meanwhile, cruised past Washington State in their Apple Cup rivalry game last week – making quite a statement while doing so.

Tennessee at Mississippi State

Tennessee bounced back well from its overtime loss against Georgia, getting a blowout win over UAB last week. The Vols will now head to Starkville to take on a red-hot Mississippi State team, which has a home win over Arizona State on its resume this year.

Oregon at Penn State

The primetime slate features two of the top matchups of the year so far. In Happy Valley, Penn State will welcome Oregon for the White Out game, meaning the Ducks are heading into a raucous environment under the lights. NBC’s lead team of Noah Eagle and Todd Blackledge will have the call.

Alabama at Georgia
