The Cleveland Browns made a change at quarterback this week, moving veteran Joe Flacco to the bench and starting rookie Dillon Gabriel.
The Browns are in London, England, this weekend, facing the Minnesota Vikings, who boast one of the top defenses in football. They rank first in EPA/play at -0.17, meaning the former Oregon standout has a tall task ahead of him.
Cleveland's best player, edge rusher Myles Garrett, has faith in his first-time starter and believes Gabriel gives the Browns a chance to win.
Myles Garrett says Dillon Gabriel runs the offense like it's his offense
When speaking to the media following their practice in London, Garrett raved about Gabriel and his control of the Browns' offense.
"I mean, he just runs the offense like this is his offense. And that’s all you can ask for from any quarterback. He comes out, smile on his face, chest out, gives the call, and it looks like he’s been doing it for years," said Garrett.
"So, I’m looking forward to him doing the same thing on Sunday."
The former Oregon Duck has seen game action twice this season, both in garbage time. He's completed three of four pass attempts for 19 yards and one touchdown.
Since being selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, Garrett has seen a multitude of quarterbacks come and go from within the Browns organization.
Hopefully, Gabriel can be the one to stick around in Cleveland, and that all starts on Sunday morning in England.
