Barça and Arsenal battle for Luis Benedetti

The young Brazilian center-back Luis Benedetti (19 years old) is attracting plenty of attention across Europe. After Barcelona showed interest, Arsenal have now entered the race to sign him, according to media reports.

Benedetti currently plays for Palmeiras and is under contract until 2029. The Brazilian club is reportedly demanding €15 million to let him go, while Barcelona are said to be ready to offer €12 million. Barça see the defender as a possible replacement for Iñigo Martínez, who left for Al-Nassr this summer.

For now, it remains unclear whether Benedetti prefers a move to Catalonia or London. The young Brazilian has made nine official appearances with Palmeiras' first team and could quickly become a key player at his future European club.
