AsiaPay to power payments for Tai Wo Management’s taxi booking platform

Hong Kong-based AsiaPay has partnered with Tai Wo Management to implement an electronic payment system within the JOIE taxi booking platform.

JOIE is a taxi fleet operated by Tai Wo Management in Hong Kong.

The partnership will provide taxi drivers with “accessible payment options” as well as simplify the ride-booking and payment process for passengers, AsiaPay stated.

AsiaPay's payment system, now integrated into JOIE, supports various payment methods including credit cards, UnionPay, AlipayHK, WeChat Pay HK, and Apple Pay, with plans to expand the options available.

The integration is said to support "real-time” transaction processing and reconciliation.

It allows passengers to book and pay directly through the JOIE application.

Tai Wo Management stated: "This partnership meets the growing expectations among both drivers and passengers for digital services. We plan to further collaborate with AsiaPay to explore additional innovations, including dynamic pricing integration."

Additionally, the JOIE platform features AsiaPay's fraud prevention technologies and adheres to the payment card industry data security standard (PCI DSS).

“With the integration of our system into Tai Wo Management's taxi app, we aim to optimise the journey experience for both drivers and passengers while helping merchants grow revenue and expand market reach."

AsiaPay is known for its payment processing and gateway services to financial institutions. It operates the PayDollar platform, which supports multiple currencies, languages, card types, and channels, alongside an online fraud detection system.

Last month, AsiaPay partnered with restaurant chain McDonald’s to launch an integrated digital payment solution in Taiwan.
