BOSTON (AP) — New York Yankees right-hander Luis Gil has not allowed a hit through six innings against the Boston Red Sox on Friday night.
Gil walked four and struck out four while throwing 93 pitches. He also had a balk.
The reigning AL Rookie of the Year was 3-1 with a 3.31 ERA entering the game.
There has not been a no-hitter in the major leagues this season.
