A few hours after Angel Reese was named to her second WNBA All-Star Game, the Chicago Sky were back in action eyeing their third win in four games.
On Sunday, the Sky traveled West to face WNBA MVP favorite Napheesa Collier and the first-place Minnesota Lynx.
Chicago got off to a big start in the first quarter, entering the second with a 24-10 lead. Reese was a big part of the Sky's play, posting six points on 75% shooting, two rebounds and four assists, tying a career-high for assists in a quarter.
But there was one play from Reese that stood out to the WNBA, and it happened against the reigning Defensive Player of the Year.

With just over six minutes remaining in the first quarter, Reese had the ball at the top of the arc with Collier closely guarding her. She started by faking a spin to the right, then used a quick crossover to drive toward the basket.
As she entered the paint, Reese backed into Collier, bumped her a few times to create space, then spun and lofted a soft hook shot that dropped in, giving the Sky a one-point lead.
The WNBA reacted to the highlight with a post on X.
"Settin' the tone early 😤," the WNBA wrote. "Angel Reese powers her way through the lane for her first bucket of the game."
Through their first 16 games, Reese and the Sky have posted a 5-11 record under first-year head coach Tyler Marsh. Despite being shorthanded, they’ve found some success lately while playing without point guard Courtney Vandersloot, who is sidelined for the year with an injury, and center Kamilla Cardoso, who is representing Brazil in the AmeriCup.
