What you need to know about Amazon Prime Day 2025 to score the best deals this July

Everyone loves witnessing an iconic comeback, from Michael Jordan's triumphant return to basketball in 1995 to Pamela Anderson's recent rise to celebrated-actress status. But you know what really gets a shopping editor going? Knowing everyone's favorite annual deals extravaganza is making a resurgence. I'm talking about Amazon Prime Day, of course, and we've been told it's officially a go. (Cue: confetti emoji.) The online retail giant announced that its highly anticipated savings event, Amazon Prime Day 2025, is slated for sometime in July, though exact dates haven't been revealed yet (you'll be the first we tell once they are). According to Amazon, this splashy sale will be chock-full of "deep discounts across more than 35 categories including electronics, kitchen, beauty and apparel." In short, there's a little — or a lot of — something for everyone.

Now, if this will be your first Prime Day rodeo, here are some basics to keep in mind: The majority of the best Prime Day deals are, as the name implies, exclusively for Prime members. That means you'll need an Amazon Prime membership to take advantage of the steepest markdowns and score the lowest prices. Signing up is easy, and you can even opt for a free 30-day trial before committing to a plan. After that, you'll be charged $14.99 per month, which grants you access to dedicated deals, fast and free shipping, Prime streaming content and more.

As mentioned, our trusty team of shopping experts will be providing more updates as it gets closer, and in the meantime? If the prospect of scoring fabulous prices on home essentials, tech gear and more excites you, you don't have to wait until next month. We've spied some stellar on-sale gems at Amazon already — after all, the early bird gets the worm...

If you've been holding off on buying AirPods until there's a sale, consider this the time to pounce. At just $99, this pair is down to the best price I've seen. Now, they don't include active noise cancellation like these do, but if it's a high-quality, comfortable listening experience you're after, these earbuds more than deliver. With up to five hours of listening time per charge (and 30 hours of battery life via the charging case), you'll be able to enjoy music, podcasts, audiobooks and more with limited interruption.

Ah, yes, the coveted Stanley cup. These bad boys rarely go on sale (they don't really need to), but this sought-after sipper happens to be 40% off. It's got a built-in straw and keeps cold drinks cold for up to nine hours (40 hours if they're iced). No excuses for not staying hydrated this summer! Plus, its tapered bottom will fit right in your car's cup holder.

Apple products are so sought after that they don't really need to go on sale, and when they do, it's often because they're older models. This is the latest version of this iPad, which makes the markdown all the more impressive. According to Yahoo Senior Deals Writer Chris McGraw, who specializes in all things tech, "It's an ultra-light, thin tablet that's powerful enough to replace your laptop for most tasks but slips into your bag without a second thought. With a large 11-inch Liquid Retina display, you're swiping and scrolling in vibrant color and sharpness that makes any screen that came before feel like an old tube TV.

"If you've got a habit of toggling between a dozen apps, streaming videos and replying to messages at once, you're in for a treat. This iPad is ready to keep up with whatever you throw its way. And if you're into gaming, the graphics capabilities mean you can play even demanding games without dropping a frame."

Don't want your new vac to suck a ton of cash from your wallet? This sleek stick's a rare $74 (it's only dipped lower than this once). It boasts strong suction for zapping up everything from dust to pet hair, and provides up to 40 minutes of run time per charge. Plus, its LED lights help you see those darker spaces, and its cyclonic filtration system traps airborne particles as well.

Ready to transform your blow-drying experience without shelling out for a pricey Dyson? Reviewers say this sleek styler is a comparable alternative for a fraction of the price. This is the very hand vac I use at home, and let me tell you — it's so much more powerful than its lightweight feel would imply. Is it bulkier than some of the other hand vacuums out there? Yes, but that's to be expected, given its industrial-strength performance. That said, it's portable enough to bring from room to room without it feeling like a workout, and that's all I can ask for. Well, that and an incredible price — and this one is a record low. Bonus: You don't have to purchase the battery and charger separately.

These days, many people are swapping their plastic cutting boards for ones that don't pose the risk of exposing food to potentially harmful substances. If you're looking to do the same, bamboo is an excellent alternative, and this set includes not one, not two, but three sturdy boards and a nifty holder. Because you're getting a variety of sizes, you'll be able to designate one board for meats, one for produce and another for smaller mincing tasks. Oh, and this trio rarely dips lower than its current price.

Never fight with your family members over power outlets again. This electrifying gadget boasts five AC outlets and four USB ports, enough for everyone to charge their devices at once. Oh, and it's so much sleeker than having a power strip on your floor (and there's no way you'll trip over it).

No, it's not a massive discount, but this No. 1 bestseller is within a buck of its all-time low (and it's retailed for as much as $20 in the past).

You'll never go wrong with the classic look of Hanes, and Yahoo readers and Amazon shoppers alike can't get enough of these supremely comfortable shorts.
