Warriors Make NBA Playoff History During Game 1 vs. Timberwolves

The Golden State Warriors were on the road on Tuesday night as they faced off against the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 1 of their second-round series.

Both teams had a slow start to the game as the Timberwolves led 20-18 at the end of the first quarter. Golden State then turned it on in the second quarter, outscoring Minnesota 26-11 to take a 13-point lead into halftime.

The Warriors then put together a dominant third quarter and they were able to hold off a fourth quarter run by the Timberwolves to steal Game 1 on the road 99-88.

Buddy Hield led the way for the Warriors with 24 points and eight rebounds while Jimmy Butler added 20 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists of his own.

Draymond Green also had an incredible game as he recorded 18 points, eight rebounds and six assists in the victory.

Of course, the headliner from Tuesday’s game was Stephen Curry’s injury early in the second quarter as he was ruled out due to a left hamstring strain.

Despite Curry being sidelined, the Warriors had other players step up when it mattered to take a 1-0 series lead.

With the victory, the Warriors also helped make NBA playoff history as all four road teams won Game 1 of their Conference Semifinals series for the first time in NBA history.

Of course, the Warriors joined the Indiana Pacers, New York Knicks and Denver Nuggets to help make NBA history as all the lower seeds won Game 1 of their second-round series.

This is an incredible accomplishment for all the road teams and one that not many saw coming entering the second round.
