The Golden State Warriors had their postseason run come to an unfortunate ending when they fell to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the NBA Playoffs when Stephen Curry went down with a hamstring injury. Even making the playoffs wasn't a sure thing for the Warriors, as they once sat as the No. 12 seed in the Western Conference.
But the trade that brought Jimmy Butler to Golden State proved to be crucial, as the team went on a 23-7 run to close out the season. However, they dropped a couple of games in the last week of the season that forced them into the NBA Play-In Tournament.

Warriors free agent target "considering" major career move
In both playoff series in which the Warriors played, the center position was a major concern. The Houston Rockets and Timberwolves threw lineups at them to exploit their lack of size on the interior, and it was more than forward Draymond Green could handle.
Going into free agency, some expected the Warriors to be one of the more active teams, especially with wing Jonathan Kuminga being a restricted free agent. However, the market for him has been sparse, and the Warriors have been one of the quieter teams as a result.
NBC Sports' Monte Poole, provided an update regarding one of the Warriors' free agent targets on the Willard & Dibs show.
"[The Warriors] are banking on Al [Horford] to play and they're hoping he does but from what I hear, he is considering retiring," Poole said.
Horford would be a solid fit for this Warriors team both offensively and defensively. He was asked to play more in Boston than originally speculated after Kristaps Porzingis' mysterious illness.
His ability to shoot the ball as a true stretch five would be perfect for this offense. While the Warriors might not want to make their roster even older, this move is one that could help put them in contention in what will likely be a loaded Western Conference.
