The Golden State Warriors are just a victory away from advancing to the second round of the NBA Playoffs.
Of course, the Warriors had a chance to end their first-round series against the Houston Rockets on the road on Wednesday night but they were unable to do so.
Houston dominated Game 5 on Wednesday to keep their season alive despite a late run by the Warriors’ bench.
With the blowout, head coach Steve Kerr elected to sit most of his starters to give them extra rest before they return home on Friday for Game 6.
Because of this, both Jimmy Butler and Stephen Curry were able to get some extra rest for their lingering injuries.
For Butler, he is still dealing with the pelvic and glute contusion that he suffered in Game 2 of the series while Curry is dealing with a lingering right thumb injury.
After Wednesday’s game, Curry was asked about his injury, which went viral after a photo of his thumb surfaced on social media, and he gave a hilarious answer.
“State of your thumb right now,” a reporter asked Curry after Game 5.
"Cold," Curry responded.
"There's a picture online (which) looks pretty swollen," the reporter responded.
"You got the feds on me,” Curry jokingly answered.
With Curry joking about the injury, it appears as though he still feels good about playing through it, which he has done for most of the second half of the season.
Curry’s injured thumb has not given him problems thus far in the series as he has had another incredible playoff run.
Even better for Curry is that he had some extra time to rest his injured thumb after Wednesday’s blowout loss to the Rockets as he prepares for a crucial Game 6 on Friday night as he and the Warriors look to wrap up the series with a victory.
