Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce should have plenty of experience in pressure-packed moments. But when it came time for Kelce to put himself out there off the field, he admitted there were plenty of nerves.
Kelce had sweaty palms and shed some tears when he proposed to Taylor Swift, Kelce admitted Sunday. Kelce was asked about his proposal during an interview with Erin Andrews that aired before the team's Week 2 game.
Kelce didn't want to provide too many details about the proposal, saying he would leave that for Swift. But Kelce did admit he was nervous.
"The palms were definitely sweating. I'm an emotional guy, so there were a few tears here and there. It's been an exciting ride up to this date and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with her."
Any Swiftie hoping for more details will need to wait for Swift to give her side of the story. Given the intensity of Swift's fandom, that should be a highly-anticipated interview once Swift is ready to talk.

While the proposal made it an excellent offseason for Kelce, the start of the regular season didn't start off that well for the Chiefs. Though Kelce scored a touchdown, the Chiefs lost 27-21 to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1. Kelce finished the contest with two catches and 47 yards.
Following an injury to Xavier Worthy — which Kelce said was his fault — and a suspension to Rashee Rice, Kelce should take on an even bigger role in the team's offense early in the season. If he can quell his nerves on the field, Kelce could wind up putting up some vintage stat lines until the rest of the team's pass catchers get healthy.
Thankfully for Kelce, he has plenty of experience handling his nerves on a football field.
