Travis Kelce Confirms Big NFL Decision Before 2025 Schedule Reveal

With the NFL schedule fully unveiled on Wednesday night, plenty of marquee matchups have already been leaked, and more will follow before each team knows the entirety of their 2025-26 season schedule.

One of the early rumors suggested that the Los Angeles Chargers would open the season with a Week 1 Friday night matchup in Brazil, similar to the game between the Eagles and Packers last year. According to the rumors, the Chargers' opponent would be the Kansas City Chiefs.

While the NFL confirmed all international matchups on Tuesday, this specific game remained unannounced. The league declined to reveal who the Chargers would face, leaving the official announcement to YouTube TV, which will be exclusively streaming the game.

However, it seems Travis Kelce took matters into his own hands. On the most recent episode of the "New Heights" podcast, released Wednesday morning, Kelce revealed that the Chiefs will indeed be the team playing against the Chargers in Brazil for the Week 1 matchup.

"This doesn't come out till Wednesday?" Kelce said. "Yeah, we're definitely playing in Brazil. I also heard those rumors."

The NFL has officially scheduled the Kansas City Chiefs for several high-profile games to open the 2025 season, including a Week 1 matchup in Brazil, a Thanksgiving Day game against the Dallas Cowboys, and a Christmas Day showdown with the Denver Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium.

Kansas City is coming off a disappointing performance in Super Bowl LIX, where they were defeated 40-22 by the Philadelphia Eagles in their attempt to secure a third consecutive Lombardi Trophy.
