Torquay United midfielder Munashe Sundire will miss between four and six months following hamstring surgery.

The 28-year-old ruptured his hamstring behind his knee in an innocuous slip during the 3-2 win over Dover Athletic last month.

Sundire - who moved to Plainmoor in the summer after leaving Tamworth - will undergo surgery on Saturday after scans revealed an operation was required to fix the problem.

"He's going to be out for four to six months, so we're devastated for him," Torquay manager Paul Wotton told BBC Radio Devon.

"It's going to be a huge loss to us, but it's an unfortunate part of football."

However Wotton has been boosted by the news that Sonny Blu Lo-Everton and Dylan Morgan have returned to training ahead of schedule after injury.

Callum Dolan is also nearing fitness, although the Gulls are awaiting news on whether Louis Dennis will be fit for the FA Cup third qualifying round tie with AFC Totton on Saturday having suffered a hamstring strain.
