Titans Release Former Eagles RB After Recent Signing

Jul 19, 2025 1:03 PM EDT

The Tennessee Titans replaced general manager Ran Carthon this offseason after a string of poor personnel decisions. Longtime Kansas City Chiefs executive Mike Borgonzi was hired in his place and will be tasked with turning around the three-win Titans.

Borgonzi and the front office have already made a crucial decision, drafting Miami quarterback Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. They also surrounded him with a handful of veteran and rookie wideouts.

Ward will have a strong running game to support him as well, as the duo of Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears combined for 1,853 all-purpose yards and 10 touchdowns last season.

During the draft, the Titans selected Michigan running back Kalel Mullings to bolster the running back room. Tennessee also returns three-year veteran back Julius Chestnut for the 2025 season.

They also signed Ty-Davis Price to a two-year deal in free agency. However, on Thursday, the team signed another running back, Jordan Mims, and waived Davis-Price in a corresponding move (via ESPN’s Turron Davenport).

Davis-Price played his college football at LSU and was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. After two years with the 49ers, he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles last season, running just three times for seven yards in 2024.

He has both a college National Championship and a Super Bowl victory under his belt, but he has mustered just 43 carries for 127 yards and zero touchdowns thus far at the NFL level. Davis-Price has also yet to catch a pass in his professional career.

Now, Mims will look to pry reps away from Chestnut and Mullings as training camp starts next week for the Titans. Davis-Price will be looking to find a new home with another NFL team.
