The Oklahoma City Thunder were at home on Sunday night as they tried to cap off their dominant season with a championship in Game 7 of the NBA Finals against the Indiana Pacers.
It was a tightly contested matchup in the first half but after Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton exited the game due to an Achilles injury in the first quarter, Indiana struggled in the second half.
Due to Indiana’s struggles, the Thunder were able to take advantage as they picked up the 103-91 victory to win their first championship since relocating to Oklahoma City.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way for Oklahoma City in Game 7 as he recorded 29 points, five rebounds and 12 assists.
Jalen Williams also put together an incredible performance with 20 points, four rebounds and four assists while Chet Holmgren added 18 points, eight rebounds and five blocks of his own.
After the game, NBA commissioner Adam Silver awarded Shai with the Finals MVP award as he received all 11 votes for the award.
This is a massive achievement by Shai and one that also helped him make NBA history.
By winning Finals MVP, Shai became the first Canadian in NBA history to be named Finals MVP.
Of course, Shai won regular season and Western Conference Finals MVP as well as he became the first player to in all three MVP awards in the same season.
During the NBA Finals, the 26-year-old superstar averaged 30.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.6 blocks per game while shooting 44.3% from the field and 24.2% from three-point range.

It was truly an incredible season for Shai as he played a major role in helping bring a championship to Oklahoma City.
Now the Thunder enter the offseason with most of their core signed for next season as they try to upgrade their roster even more and compete for another title next season.
