Thunder's Mark Daigneault Sends Clear Message After Game 6 vs. Pacers

The Oklahoma City Thunder were on the road on Thursday night for Game 6 of the NBA Finals against the Indiana Pacers.

Of course, the Thunder entered the matchup looking to clinch the series and the championship with a victory after they were able to take a 3-2 lead after their victory in Game 5.

Unfortunately for Oklahoma City, they were unable to do so as Indiana dominated their way to a 108-91 victory, though it was never that close of a game.

After getting out to an early lead, the Thunder then began playing sloppy as they uncharacteristically continued to turn the ball over and struggled to shoot form the field.

The Thunder ended the game with 21 turnovers while the Pacers only had 11 and Oklahoma City also shot an abysmal 26.7% from three-point range in the loss.

It was clearly not the Thunder’s night and after the game head coach Mark Daigneault sent a clear message to the team when meeting with the media.

“I'll look at it. Obviously, it was a very poor performance by us,” Daigneault said. “We gotta be much better going into Game 7.”

This was a clear message by Daigneault and one that is warranted after the Thunder were dominated the entire game by the Pacers.

Despite this, the Thunder have been one of the best teams in the NBA on their home court this season and they have also fared well coming off a loss in the playoffs.

While that may be the case, Oklahoma City has to play better as a team and they will need their star trio of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams to all step up huge if they want to cap off their season with a championship.

Fans can catch Game 7 of the NBA Finals from Oklahoma City at 8:00 p.m. EST on ABC on Sunday night.
