This L'Oreal lip oil, one of Bethenny Frankel's 'current obsessions,' is $7 for a few hours

If there's one thing Bethenny Frankel loves to do, it's share her opinion — be it about relationships or chicken salad (if you know, you know). And while the 54-year-old former Real Housewives of New York star can surely afford the priciest beauty products on the market, she's not afraid to dish about which ones are worth shelling out for and which you should skip in favor of affordable drugstore finds. Speaking of which, there's a section of her website dedicated to her "Current Obsessions," and many budget-friendly beauty buys make the cut. One in particular, the popular L'Oreal Paris Plump Ambition Hyaluron Lip Oil, jumped out because it's currently on sale for as little as $7 (from $14) at Amazon — but only for a very limited time.

Why is it a good deal? 💰

The shade Frankel's site links to — Cherry Cherie — is currently 50% off, and my price trackers tell me that's as low as this lip gloss has ever been on sale for. Better scoop up multiples before the lightning deal is 100% claimed! The other nine hues are also on sale, but for $11 (still a reasonable price for a product with such high ratings).

Why do I need this? 🤔

Lipsticks can be drying, and not all of us want the amount of pigment they provide. A lip oil is a more moisturizing alternative, and this one has a lovely tint that's not too bold. Formulated with hyaluronic acid and tripeptides, it delivers hydration that, according to the brand, lasts for up to 24 hours, and has a slight plumping effect for more voluminous-looking kissers. (FYI: As with other lip-plumping products, you might experience a tingling sensation upon applying.)

The applicator brush has massaging beads, allowing the product to swipe on smoothly, and leaves your lips with a glossy finish that, according to reviewers, isn't the least bit sticky. No wonder Frankel approves of this stuff...

A few buyers did mention that the plumping effect might not be for everyone.

"Beautiful color and shine, but I couldn’t get over the 'tingling' sensation," wrote a candid customer. "Felt more like a light burning sensation to me. I don’t consider myself to have sensitive lips. ... It’s just not for me."

"Good consistency," said a final fan. "I love it, it’s not sticky at all. But if you have very sensitive lips, I wouldn’t recommend, since it is plumping and you will definitely notice it."
