The top 20 performances from Week 8 in Utah high school football

Each week, the Deseret News collects high school football stats from around the state, with approximately 85% of the coaches submitting their offensive and defensive stats.

Here’s a look at some headliner performances from Week 8. Also check out the Deseret News’ complete sortable leaders feature for offense, defense and special teams.


Class 6A

Lincoln Tahi, Skyridge — Carried the ball 28 times for 128 yards and two touchdowns and caught 13 passes for 85 more yards in a dominant performance in Skyridge’s 37-34 win over Lone Peak.

Devaughn Eka, Lehi — Played a big role in Lehi’s 26-3 win over American Fork, rushing the ball 15 times for 143 yards and two touchdowns.

Bode Sparrow, Davis — Caught eight passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns and added eight tackles defensively to lead the Darts to a big 21-10 win over rival Farmington.

Owen Peterson, Bingham — Rushed the ball 21 times for 147 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Miners to a 34-10 victory over Copper Hills.


Class 5A

Salesi Moa, Fremont — Caught nine passes for 153 yards and three touchdowns to guide Fremont to the big 48-30 region win over Box Elder.

Sean Brant, Clearfield — In difficult, wet conditions, Brant rushed the ball 14 times for 137 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Falcons to the 35-19 come-from-behind win over Bonneville.

Trevyn Wall, Payson — Completed 32 of 51 passes for 432 yards and four touchdowns, and rushed for a score, as Payson rallied past Wasatch 37-33 for the biggest comeback in state history.

Siaki Fekitoa, Bountiful — Carried the ball 22 times for 206 yards and three TDs to power Bountiful to the 42-31 victory over Alta.

Tayden Kaawa, Orem — Completed 14 of 22 passes for 218 yards and five touchdowns and he rushed for 66 more yards as Orem rolled past Pleasant Grove 50-7.


Class 4A

Vili Ripley, Highland — Rushed for three touchdowns as the Rams earned a comfortable 42-0 win over Juan Diego.

Brayden Larsen, Mountain Crest — Completed 17 of 26 passes for 231 yards and four touchdowns, and rushed for 80 yards and another score, as the Mustangs cruised past Bear River 56-0.

Austen Benson, Crimson Cliffs — Racked up seven tackles and scored a TD on a blocked kick return as Crimson Cliffs beat Dixie 35-7.

Jack Clark, Sky View — In just one half of football, Clark completed 17 of 20 passes for 321 yards and six TDs in the 55-0 lopsided win over Deseret Peak.


Class 3A

Jase Pingree, Logan — Caught three passes with all three of them going for touchdowns as he finished with 100 yards as Logan beat Ben Lomond 36-0.

Blake West, Ogden — Completed 9 of 13 passes for 90 yards and two touchdowns, and rushed for 59 more yards and two touchdowns as Ogden edged Union 28-26 in a key region game.

Brock Richards, Juab — Rushed for 137 yards and three touchdowns on 26 carries to lead Juab to the 35-31 win over Richfield.


Class 2A

Bridger Bradshaw, South Sevier — Completed 11 of 23 passes for 222 yards and three TDs and ran for a score as the Rams beat Emery in Week 8 41-21.

Jett Rawlinson, Delta — Racked up 224 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 19 carries to lift the Rabbits past Carbon for the 28-0 nonregion win.


Class 1A

Nashden Goodliffe, Duchesne — Had a huge day on the ground as he carried the ball 10 times for 272 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Eagles to a 48-14 win over Millard.

Jackson Keyes, Monticello — Completed 93% of his passes (25 of 27) for 272 yards and six touchdowns as Monticello rolled to the 77-42 win over Whitehorse in an 8-player game.
