Chelsea are finally getting some productivity from their wingers.
Estevao Willian scored the winner against Liverpool on Saturday, earlier in the week Alejandro Garnacho forced the winner against Benfica by smashing a cross into Richard Rios.
Chelsea finally have productive wingers scoring and assisting

On the London is Blue podcast, their analyst CFC Central took a closer look at what Maresca’s tactics were producing from his wide players:
“Our best chance creator on the day was Marc Cucurella with 3 chances created across 90 minutes. But Estevao was there for just fifteen minutes, he created two in that time, and one was a big chance, then scored. An absolutely stellar cameo, he’s doing exactly that you’d want him to do,” the analyst said.
“Estevao is crashing the back post, now you’ve got two wingers on either flank who are doing that. Alejandro Garnacho did it against Benfica for Pedro Neto’s cross at the far post, getting it inside for the own goal, this time Estevao does it.”
“That’s positive signs on both counts that you’ve got wingers now behaving like forwards and actively looking to get that goal count up.”

Maresca’s winger thoughts gradually becoming clear
Garnacho is a frustrating player in some ways but we can see him quickly becoming a Maresca favourite. He’s got great energy and work rate, and can hold down that left position while Jamie Gittens is still developing.
Pedro Neto gives you similar energy, plus great directness and delivery from the right.
Meanwhile Estevao is still too young and raw to be a regular starter yet – but when he can do this sort of damage without much pressure as a sub, why would you change that setup anyway?
