The best Prime Day 2025 tablet deals to grab right now, starting at just $55

Tablets beat phones at just about everything — well, except for slipping into your jeans pocket or snapping quick pics of your lunch. But when it comes to gaming, movie marathons, reading marathons, or video calls with that one relative who still holds the phone at chin level, bigger really is better. Plus, if you're into drawing, designing, or pretending to write your novel, a tablet gives you way more room to create. And right now, they’re not just winning — they’re on sale. Thanks to Amazon Prime Day (which, let’s be honest, is more like Prime Week), some of the best tablets out there are going for way less than usual.

Below I've corralled the ones worth your time (and, potentially, dollars). This is based on a lot of experience testing and using tablets. Spoiler alert: Apple's record-low iPad A16 is mighty tempting, but I think the best deal is Amazon's Fire HD 8 for just $55. It's nothing fancy, but in true Millennium Falcon fashion, it's got it where it counts. You're all clear, kid; let's buy this thing and go home.

Note: Some discounts require an Amazon Prime subscription. And while we continually monitor pricing and availability, prices often change without warning and products sometimes sell out.

The best tablet deals from Amazon Prime Day 2025

For my money, there's no better budget tablet than the Amazon Fire HD 8. (I said as much in my roundup of the best tablets for 2025.) And that was based on the $100 list price; at $55, a tie for the all-time low, it's an absolute steal.

No, it doesn't match the Apple iPad Mini in terms of polish, versatility and user interface. But it's literally almost one-tenth the price right now, and it can do pretty much everything you'd want a tablet to do.

Another winner in our roundup of the best tablets, the Kids edition of the Fire HD 8 has more or less the same hardware — but with a child-proof case and super-generous warranty: two years of coverage, including accidental breakage. (Do your worst, Junior!)

At $75, this tablet is tied for its all-time-low price — which hasn't been seen since Black Friday 2024. Whether you've got kids or grandkids, don't pass it up.

It's hard to justify spending hundreds of dollars on an iPad when Amazon's 10-inch Fire HD tablet can be had for just $70. That's the lowest price on record for this model, by the way, and while it may lack some of the iPad's spit and polish, it can perform just about all the same tasks. Heck, you could buy four and still end up paying less than you would for a single iPad.

Amazon isn't the only cheap-tablet game in town. Samsung's A9+ plus features a spacious high-resolution screen, 64GB of expandable storage, quad speakers, a 12-hour battery and full access to the Google Play Store — something you can't get from Amazon's Fire tablets. This price ties the lowest on record, and it hasn't been this low since Black Friday 2024.

Built with students, business professionals and creative types in mind, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is a powerful 10.4-inch tablet with a powerful accessory: Samsung's S Pen, which lets you draw, take notes, mark up PDFs and lots more. Unlike an iPad, it lets you expand the 64GB of onboard storage. And while it normally sells for around $300, this $190 Prime Day price represents an all-time low.

The newest iPad is an ultra-light, thin tablet that's powerful enough to replace your laptop for most tasks but slips into your bag with room to spare. With a spacious 11-inch Liquid Retina display, you're swiping and scrolling in vibrant color and sharpness that makes any screen that came before it feel like an old tube TV.

If you've got a habit of toggling among a dozen apps, streaming videos and replying to messages simultaneously, you're in for a treat. This iPad is ready to keep up with whatever you throw its way. And if you're into gaming, the graphics capabilities mean you can play even demanding games without dropping a frame.

Looking for a really big tablet? TCL's latest spans a whopping 14.3 inches and offers three display modes: Regular (in full, glorious color), Ink Paper (similar to that of an e-reader) and Color Ink Paper (similar to that of a color e-reader). All three support the use of an optional pressure-sensitive stylus for drawing, sketching, taking notes and more. When you apply promo code N9LSDOBF at checkout, you'll walk away with the lowest price on record.

Prefer a small tablet over a laptop? This one's on sale for its best price ever. Think this is just a slightly larger version of your phone? Think again. With a 3:2 aspect ratio compared to the iPhone's 2:1, the iPad mini is much wider and, for those who use their tablets to read, can fit more text and feels more like a book or magazine in your hand. Speaking of fitting in your hand, it's much less cumbersome than the full-size iPad, making it great for travel or slipping into a backpack for your commute.
