When I was a junior in college, my job in between classes was selling underwear to rich people at a lingerie boutique in New York City's East Village. Pretty much everything we carried was out of my budget, but I remember a particular pair of panties — which notably had a big, round cutout right in the bum area — retailed for over a hundred bucks. This was years ago, so I shudder to think of what these highly practical undergarments would cost now ... but having spent the morning searching for the best Amazon deals, I do know this: A pair of Apple AirPods is currently on sale for less than those undies were going for back in the day. (At just $99, they're down to a record low.)

Know what else you can score for less than the price of those two square inches of fabric? A cordless Black & Decker stick vacuum, on rare sale for just $74. And if you'd rather not splurge on Dyson hairstyling tools, reviewers say this ionic hairdryer is comparable to the name-brand version (at an all-time low $28).

From tech gadgets and countertop kitchen appliances to beauty bargains and summer style finds, I'd say the Amazon deals I've wrangled up are smarter buys than a pair of underwear with holes. I mean, most of us probably have a few of those buried in our drawers anyway...

Best Amazon deals: Rare sales

If you've been holding off on buying AirPods until there's a sale, consider this the time to pounce. At just $99, this pair is down to the best price I've seen. Now, they don't include active noise cancellation like these do, but if it's a high-quality, comfortable listening experience you're after, these earbuds more than deliver. With up to five hours of listening time per charge (and 30 hours of battery life via the charging case), you'll be able to enjoy music, podcasts, audiobooks and more with limited interruption.

Been meaning to try these best-in-class 'buds? They boast active noise cancellation, which shuts out the world so you can immerse yourself in music or whatever makes you happy. Adaptive Transparency mode allows you to listen to your tunes but also hear any important noises from your surroundings — and this is as low as they've been since 2024.

Ah, yes, the coveted Stanley cup. These bad boys rarely go on sale (they don't really need to), but this sought-after sipper happens to be 40% off. It's got a built-in straw and keeps cold drinks cold for up to nine hours (40 hours if they're iced). No excuses for not staying hydrated this summer! Plus, its tapered bottom will fit right in your car's cup holder.

Apple products are so sought after that they don't really need to go on sale, and when they do, it's often because they're older models. This is the latest version of this iPad, which makes the markdown all the more impressive. According to Yahoo Senior Deals Writer Chris McGraw, who specializes in all things tech, "It's an ultra-light, thin tablet that's powerful enough to replace your laptop for most tasks but slips into your bag without a second thought. With a large 11-inch Liquid Retina display, you're swiping and scrolling in vibrant color and sharpness that makes any screen that came before feel like an old tube TV.

"If you've got a habit of toggling between a dozen apps, streaming videos and replying to messages at once, you're in for a treat. This iPad is ready to keep up with whatever you throw its way. And if you're into gaming, the graphics capabilities mean you can play even demanding games without dropping a frame."

Don't want your new vac to suck a ton of cash from your wallet? This sleek stick's a rare $74 (it's only dipped lower than this once). It boasts strong suction for zapping up everything from dust to pet hair, and provides up to 40 minutes of run time per charge. Plus, its LED lights help you see those darker spaces, and its cyclonic filtration system traps airborne particles as well.

Enjoying a warm breakfast on a busy morning has never been so easy, thanks to this contraption that'll make a bacon, egg and cheese without you having to wait at the drive-through. Just fill each tray with the essentials and any toppings you'd like, and it'll cook everything so that it's nice and melty by the time you've gotten dressed. This appliance doesn't go on sale very often, so grab it while you can save a few bucks.

If your cookware is ready for a replacement, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay recommends HexClad, which he says "cooks to absolute, utter perfection." The pans' hybrid construction enlists stainless steel, cast iron and nonstick to create a one-of-a-kind product.

According to Ramsay (who, full disclosure, is an official partner of the brand), it makes for a surface that "is highly versatile and cooks exceptionally well." Aluminum is sandwiched between stainless steel, making for expert heat conduction and even distribution, and the nonstick interiors make it a breeze to clean. Bonus: Their signature hexagonal etching helps encourage browning.

These pieces rarely go on sale, but this starter set is currently an impressive 35% off.

Scoring a new MacBook on sale is always a win, and this price is one of the lowest this model has ever been marked down to. According to McGraw, "This version features the latest generation M4 chip, meaning you'll get a much more powerful computer with everything else you love about the MacBook Air, including its outstanding 18-hour battery life and gorgeous 13.6-inch screen."

This is the very hand vac I use at home, and let me tell you — it's so much more powerful than its lightweight feel would imply. Is it bulkier than some of the other hand vacuums out there? Yes, but that's to be expected, given its industrial-strength performance. That said, it's portable enough to bring from room to room without it feeling like a workout, and that's all I can ask for. Well, that and an incredible price — and this one is a record low. Bonus: You don't have to purchase the battery and charger separately.

Prefer a small tablet over a laptop? This one's on sale for its best price ever. McGraw says: "Think this is just a slightly larger version of your phone? Think again. With a 3:2 aspect ratio compared to the iPhone's 2:1, the iPad mini is much wider and, for those who use their tablets to read, can fit more text and feels more like a book or magazine in your hand. Speaking of fitting in your hand, it's much less cumbersome than the full-size iPad, making it great for travel or slipping into a backpack for your commute."

Allow this high-tech gizmo to take all the guesswork out of grilling, roasting and baking by letting you know the internal and external temperatures of the foods you're preparing. Accidents, unfortunately, happen, and if you happen to have one on the road, you'll be glad you had this camera to record the incident. According to McGraw, this one "can capture what's going on outside your car in 4K, which is important when you're trying to make out details like license plate numbers, especially when you're driving at night. Speaking of nighttime driving, the f/1.5 aperture lens allows this camera to capture a quality image even in low light."

He adds, "Not all accidents happen in front of you, which is why the RedTiger comes with a rear camera as well. It captures a wide, 140-degree-angle field of view, so you're covered in both the front and rear. The camera automatically detects crashes and locks and saves the video, just in case you can't." There's a reason more than 10,000 people purchased this cooling sheet set in the past month — several reasons, in fact. For starters, it's made of brushed microfiber that feels much softer than its affordable price tag would suggest, and the moisture-wicking material will help you stay dry while you snooze. Add to that the fact that these sheets are pill-, wrinkle- and fade-resistant? No wonder sleepers are comparing them to pricier bedding brands like Brooklinen. This is as low as they've been in months.

Wood-fired cooking is what provides the smoky flavor so many of us crave from grilled foods, and if that's the route you're looking to take, you can't go wrong with Home & Garden Writer Kristin Granero's pick for "best pellet grill."

"There's a lot of buzz surrounding Traeger pellet grills, and for good reason: These dynamos can tackle a lot of cooking functions — from smoking and grilling to baking and braising," she explains, adding that its 18-pound pellet hopper capacity means "you don’t need to worry about running out of fuel mid-progress."

Something else you don't need to worry about? The quality of this deal, seeing as it drops the price to its lowest in years. In fact, this grill has only dipped lower once, and that was last summer.

Want to impress your friends? Serve 'em pro-level homemade pies at your next outdoor hang. This tabletop cooker is, admittedly, an investment — even on sale — but it scored the top place in our roundup of the best pizza ovens. Plus, this is the lowest price I've ever seen it marked down to.

Granero, who did the ranking, calls it "a futuristic-looking pizza oven pod," adding, "We tested the Roccbox and can attest to its convenience (it came fully assembled, was quick to start and fired up in about 15 minutes) and versatility (for a smaller oven, it still has enough room to cook a 12-inch pizza, as well as other food items, though we’d advise using a pan for messier sauces and meats). The retractable legs are convenient and safe for propping the oven on a table or taking it on the go."

When I say that this is my parents' new obsession, I'm not exaggerating; in the past month, I've received over a dozen texts about the pizzas they're making in it. According to them, it's extremely user-friendly, works quickly and the pies "taste wood-fired," thanks to the fact that it reaches 800°F, resulting in a nicely charred crust.
