Ten killed in Pakistan-administered Kashmir amid renewed attacks

Ten people were killed in overnight strikes on Pakistan-administered Kashmir, Pakistani authorities told dpa on Saturday, with more than 60 others injured.

A spokesman for the National Disaster Management Authority shared the toll amid renewed cross-border exchanges between India and Pakistan.

No reports of casualties in the Indian-controlled parts of Kashmir have yet emerged.

Pakistan reported several attacks on military installations overnight and said it responded by destroyed an Indian defence system with hypersonic missiles.

Tensions between the nuclear-armed South Asian neighbours have escalated in recent weeks following a terrorist attack in Indian-administered Kashmir.
