Stephen Curry Gets Critical Injury Update During Warriors' Series Against Timberwolves

The Golden State Warriors are navigating murky waters as Stephen Curry is dealing with a hamstring strain during the club's second-round series.

Taking on the No. 6-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves, the Warriors picked up a massive Game 1 win to start the series off strong as the road team.

The problem with that Game 1 win? Curry left after logging just 13 minutes with an injury. While the Warriors' defense led them to a win, that wasn't the case in Game 2.

In Golden State's first full game without Curry in the postseason, they were blown out by the Timberwolves.

Heading into Game 3, the Warriors are back in San Francisco, and the franchise is hoping Jimmy Butler can lead them to another victory in the series.

Ahead of the pivotal matchup, ESPN's Shams Charania was clear to offer an update on Curry and his injury progress.

This is foreign territory for the superstar guard, as the 37-year-old hasn't dealt with an injury like this before. Charania confirmed Curry is in San Francisco, aggressively rehabbing.

"He's receiving a ton of treatment on that hamstring strain," Charania said. "There's still plenty of work to get done to get him to the point of movement, contact, running sprinting.

"And he'll be re-evaluated on Wednesday, but until that point, the Warriors' mindset is just to try to win one of these games back in the Bay... try to extend the series to six or seven, as much as they possibly can to buy Stephen Curry some time.

"Internally, there is some uncertainty, and I'm told the Warriors are really looking at that Game 6 as the earliest potential window for Stephen Curry's return."

Early on, Game 6 seemed to be the targeted date. There will be an extended time between Game 5 and Game 6, though Golden State needs to stay alive with at least one more victory to reach that point.

Even then, it depends on Curry's response to the injury and rehab to determine if he's even good to go by then, assuming the Warriors are still in the series.
