Wednesday night, Atlético de Madrid experienced a cruel ending against Liverpool. Despite managing to equalize after being down 2-0 on the Anfield pitch, the Colchoneros were crushed by a header from Virgil van Dijk in the final seconds of the match (3-2).

A moment of madness that nearly turned into a brawl next to the Spanish bench. The reason? Diego Simeone did not appreciate certain words and gestures from Liverpool supporters present at the edge of the field, to the point that he tried to confront them directly.

Quite surreal images that have already made the rounds on the internet, especially when you know the fiery character of El Cholo. However, this outburst did not come without consequences for the Argentine coach, who was sent off immediately afterward.

In the post-match press conference, Diego Simeone admitted that his reaction was inappropriate, but also explained that he had been subjected to insults from this supporter throughout the match.
