Two of the top high-octane offenses in Arkansas square off in a non-conference matchup Friday.
Sheridan, located south of Little Rock, makes the trek up to Northwest Arkansas to take on Rogers.
Going into Friday’s game, Sheridan stands at 1-1. The Yellowjackets started the season with a 58-28 win against White Hall, but was on the wrong end of a 30-point score last week, falling 42-12 to Hot Springs Lakeside.
Sheridan is led by senior quarterback Dax McMellon, who has thrown for 790 yards on 54-of-104 passing with six TDs, and junior tailback Zay Stephens, who has 337 yards and three TDs on 38 carries.
Rogers enters the game at 2-0 with two convincing wins. The Mounties rolled past North Little Rock, 41-3, in the season opener and did the same last week at Muskogee, Okla., prevailing 47-6.
Senior quarterback Jeff Regan, an Air Force commit, has seven total TDs on the season, four of those on the ground. Another senior, tailback Titus Cramer, has 249 yards rushing - 155 of those in the win last week against Muskogee - while senior receiver/linebacker Braxton Lindsey, a BYU commit, has 10 catches for 171 yards and two TDs.
