Sheffield United have completed the signing of dynamic midfielder Tammi George.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Blades this afternoon.
The 24-year-old joins Sheffield United following a long spell with Wolverhampton Wanderers. George has spent the majority of her career with Wolves, helping the club mount a number of promotion challenges in the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division. The player has turned out for the West Midlands side on more than 150 occasions.
George has proved that she has bags of quality and she will now get the opportunity to test herself in the professional game with Sheffield United.
After adding George to his squad, Sheffield United manager Ash Thompson said “I’m delighted Tammi will be taking her first steps into professional football with Sheffield United.
“Over a number of years at Wolves, she showed herself to be one of the best midfielders in the FA Women’s National League, and I’ve no doubt she has both the qualities and experience to step into the Barclays Women’s Super League 2 and be a valuable addition for us both on and off the field when the new season gets under way.”
George is Sheffield United’s third summer signing.
