Cleveland Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel was selected with the No. 94 overall pick in the recent NFL Draft -- which came after a lone impressive campaign with the Oregon Ducks.
While the club selected a quarterback in the third round, they still drafted Shedeur Sanders in the fifth round.
As quarterback uncertainty was already taking shape in the Browns' locker room, drafting two signal-callers only adds to the theatrics.
The former Ducks quarterback and Sanders are now battling among one another -- as well as with the rest of the position group -- to try and earn the starting spot ahead of the 2025 NFL season.

Gabriel has proven his leadership has translated to the NFL level, but how does Sanders feel about his teammate? The quarterback room is crowded, especially with the addition of two rookies. Does that create an awkward dynamic?
"Everything’s been cool," Sanders told SportsCasting. "He’s a cool person. I like how he handles situations, especially just the negative media that’s coming his way. I’m just happy he’s positive. He’s able to handle everything. We’re truly cool."
The two highly touted college football quarterbacks had goals of making it to the NFL. They've both accomplished that, and now they're competing alongside one another, representing the same organization.
Right now, the two are simply helping one another grow their game, as iron sharpens iron, especially during a position battle.
Gabriel shared a similar sentiment, as the former Oregon quarterback got honest about the situation.
"You know, I love it because of who it is. I think just for us both, you can learn from one another," Gabriel said. "But also, it’s not just us two in the room. At least for now [during rookie minicamp] it is, but, you know, going into the year, Kenny, Joe and even Deshaun, just a bunch of guys who played a bunch of ball that we can all learn from one another."
As the former Ducks star navigates a crowded position group, he will continue to expand upon his game and develop as an NFL quarterback.
