Heading into AEW’s September to Remember special tonight (Weds., Sept. 17), we knew one of Unified champion Kazuchika Okada’s two challengers for his defense on Saturday at All Out. The final one would be determined by a match on the three-hour show, as would all three of the teams Brodido will defend the Tag titles against in a 4-way Ladder Match on Sept. 20 in Toronto.
In the battle to face The Rainmaker and Konosuke Takeshita, CMLL’s Mascara Dorada pinned The Beast Mortos after a 450.
It led to a tense moment between all three competitors, and to both men’s manager Don Callis’ dismay, ended with Dorada taking out Okada while he was having his latest tense moment with Takeshita.
Brody King and Bandido will have to grab their titles from above the ring while facing The Young Bucks, who beat the Bang Bang Gang’s Juice Robinson & Austin Gunn (after blowing a bunch of their prize winnings from last Wednesday on their old entrance, “tipping” a fan for their pro-Jacksons sign, and a failed bribe of referee Rick Knox)…
… and JetSpeed, who got past fka The Patriarchy’s Kip Sabian & Killswitch when the bigger man showed signs of reverting back to his friendlier Luchasaurus form…
… and The Callis Family’s Alexander & Hechicero who defeated Top Flight for the final spot…
Things then broke down between all four teams, and allowed Kyle Fletcher to leave World champ Hangman Page laying as he promised earlier in the night. But I’ll let you catch up with that in our September to Remember live blog here (or in the recap & reactions in a few hours).
In the meantime, with these matches and another addition to the pre-show, the card for All Out now looks like this:
