Saint-Étienne bolster backroom staff with hires from Manchester City and England setup

Saint-Étienne are set to strengthen their backroom staff with two new additions, including a high-profile appointment from Manchester City. Norwegian head coach Eirik Horneland has already surrounded himself with trusted lieutenants Andrea Loberto and Hassan El-Fakiri. According to Le Progrès former City performance specialist Donough Holohan joins as Director of Performance, after thirteen years with the Premier League champions, during which he oversaw key innovations across the club’s modern title-winning era.

Holohan will oversee the performance department at ASSE, linking the medical and sporting sectors, previously overseen in part by Thierry Cotte.



Meanwhile, Calum Daley, a 35-year-old physical trainer with experience at QPR, Ipswich, Millwall, and Charlton Women, arrives to work alongside David Tivey, formerly of Chelsea and the England U17s.Sainté will be looking for an instant return to Ligue 1 next season, after suffering relegation in their first campaign back in the elite last season. GFFN | George Boxall
