Rob Gronkowski is “getting sick” of the noise related to his former coach Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson — and says he knows what will quell it.
“Bill has to produce and I'm going to be tuning in and I want to see him win some games,” Gronkowski, 36, told PEOPLE while on the red carpet at the YouTube Brandcast upfront on Wednesday, May 14. “Because if he wins some games, he'll shut everyone up. And that would be fun to see, man.”
For Belichick, 73, that means leading the University of North Carolina football team to a successful season in his first year at the helm.
As the former New England Patriots coach transitions to the college game, Belichick is tackling continual questions about his relationship with the 24-year-old Hudson.

Last weekend, he supported the former college cheerleader on her quest to win the Miss Maine USA crown. Hudson was named second runner-up, but the two left the pageant hand-in-hand.

Two days later, Belichick gave his first interview since his awkward CBS Sunday Morning appearance in which Hudson intervened on camera when he was asked about how the two met.
Despite reports of Hudson along the sidelines at spring practices, the coach told ESPN on Tuesday, May 13 that his relationship with Maine native is “off to the side” and that “she doesn’t have anything to do with UNC football.”
On the same day, UNC athletic director Bubba Cunningham reconfirmed that the legendary football coach’s girlfriend has not been banned from its athletics department or its facilities, despite a report last week claiming the contrary.
"Bill's been great to work with," Cunningham told ESPN in a separate interview. "He talked about practicing like a pro and he runs a professional organization that is teaching students how to be professional in all aspects of their life. He is a very determined, professional individual, and that's the way he carries himself and the way he conducts the program."
When Cunningham was asked if he was worried about “distractions,” he demurred and said: "Bill is an incredibly focused person."
As for Gronkowski, his latest remarks come after he initially supported the coach, then called the relationship between Hudson and Belichick “a distraction.”
But he says that winning is what the coach — who has eight total Super Bowl rings — is all about.
“That's what he's always done in his career and he's the best football coach out there,” Gronkowski told PEOPLE. “He knows the game inside and out better than anyone, so we're just super excited to see what he can do on the field. Now I'm kind of getting sick of all the BS off the field. I want to see how it's going to go down on the field now in the ACC [Atlantic Coast Conference].”
