Rob Dillingham Shows Caitlin Clark Love With Kobe Shoes at Timberwolves Practice

It might be the offseason, but the Minnesota Timberwolves are already preparing for the next season. That includes the NBA Summer League, where some of the team's players and potential players will participate in games in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The team's Summer League roster comprises rookies and second-year players seeking to prove they deserve a spot on the main roster. Among them are new draft picks Joan Beringer and Rocco Zikarsky, and second-year guards Terrence Shannon Jr. and Rob Dillingham.

Shannon Jr. and Dillingham are two of the few players on the roster who played for Minnesota's main roster, including time logged in the postseason, which ended weeks ago.

Many fans and analysts believe Dillingham, 20, could emerge as a viable option at point guard to replace 37-year-old veteran Mike Conley in the starting lineup. Otherwise, Anthony Edwards may need to develop into much more of a playmaker if the team wants to push further in the Western Conference and NBA playoffs.

The Timberwolves will play their first NBA 2K26 Summer League game on Thursday afternoon against the New Orleans Pelicans. Ahead of that, the team shared various content on social media from team practice sessions.

One set of photos featuring Dillingham certainly caught a lot of attention. The Wolves' guard rocks a fresh pair of the new Nike Kobe 5 Protro Caitlin Clark shoes, featuring a design that represents the Indiana Fever colors.

The signature kicks from the WNBA All-Star feature a navy blue base as well as contrasting bright red-orange laces and tongue. There's also the textured upper with a snake-like scale pattern, similar to many of Kobe's shoes, and, of course, the late, great NBA superstar's signature on the back.

According to SI's Kicks, Caitlin Clark's Kobe 5 sneakers officially dropped on June 30, priced at $190 per pair. They are currently listed as unavailable at Nike's website and sell for somewhat higher prices on various reseller websites.

Dillingham's stylish decision at practice seemed to be a hit with many Timberwolves fans who also reacted to the images of him on the hardwood in the Kobe 5s.

"Caitlin Clark stepping on the court like she's walking on a cloud. Those Kobe 5's are as smooth as her jumper!" an X comment said.

"Love the support!" another commenter wrote.

"That's wassup Rob!!!!" one X commenter said.

"Give him the keys," another fan commented.

The NBA continues to show its support for the WNBA, with various All-Star players, including Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, and LeBron James, attending games to cheer on the players.

Clark became a significant addition to the WNBA last year, breaking records and achieving Rookie of the Year and an All-Star selection in her debut season. She's also been generating plenty of ticket and merchandise sales along with improved viewership for games, particularly those featuring her Indiana Fever team.

As of this writing, she and the Fever are also one of the top three teams in terms of odds to win this year's WNBA Championship. Achieving that goal hinges on Clark's play in her sophomore season.

Meanwhile, fans are hoping that Dillingham, also in his second year, is on an upward trajectory with his play leading to more minutes and success with the Timberwolves. The team's trade with San Antonio at last year's NBA Draft brought them the former guard at the No. 8 pick, so they seemed sold on his future potential in the league.
