Nicola Zalewski has won lavish praise for his performance in yesterday’s Serie A clash between Torino and Inter Milan.

Nicola Zalewski got the start for Inter Milan against Torino yesterday evening.

With Inter having just played an exhausting two-hour Champions League semifinal second leg against Barcelona in midweek, coach Simone Inzaghi opted for major squad rotation.

Therefore, Zalewski came in to give the team some fresh legs.

Not only that, the 23-year-old’s versatility also came in handy. With midfield options limited, Inzaghi decided to switch up the system and rely on Zalewski to make it work.

The Inter coach went with a 3-4-3 formation, a very rare occurrence from the start. And Zalewski played in an attacking midfield role.

Zalewski proved to be the player who really knitted together the midfield and attack.

The Polish international’s pace, energy, and dribbling ability in tight spaces made him a constant outlet in how Inter looked to play the ball.
