There's no doubt that Real Madrid is currently in need of reinforcements at the central defense position. The team signed Deeney from Bournemouth and has Raúl Asensio, both of which are certainly good names given the young talent they currently possess.

However, Real Madrid has been plagued by recurring injuries since last season, with David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger frequently out injured, so the team must look to sign better options.
Press reports, led by reports from the Spanish newspaper Marca, have already revealed that Real Madrid indeed wants to sign the French player, while other reports have revealed that the player actually has no objection to joining Real Madrid.
As was revealed in our earlier coverage, Spanish giants Real Madrid are keeping a watchful eye on defender William Saliba's circumstances. With his existing deal set to expire in 2027, the club's strategy appears to be an attempt to negotiate a more favorable transfer price for the player.
